These are the badges I am hoping to earn. I have 3 cards to show you today and I will post the badge I earn for linking up a card in that category! Long post – sorry!

The videos and instruction on all of these topics has been so inspiring to me and I am excited to create and participate!

Day 1 – GLITZY GLITTER

~Sweet As Can Bee Card ~

sweetascanbeeadj

I love this cute bee girl that is sadly a retired stamp set from MFT – it is a big favorite with me, so I hope it is ok that I used her for this card. I stamped her in Versafine black ink on watercolor paper, embossed with clear embossing powder and used my “Ziggy“s to color her in. How I added my Doodlebug glitter: I put down two strips of crafty power tape from Scrapbook Adhesives and poured my Beetle Black glitter onto them and rubbed my finger over it to press it in to the tape. For the yellow glitter-y triangles I used an SU! set called Little Shapes and stamped them with YoYo Yellow craft (pigment) ink and then put the Bumblebee glitter on while still wet – It did not stick horribly well but there is some shimmer there! Some Doodlebug Sequins added another touch of glitz and my card is done!

DAY 3 – WONDERFUL WATER COLOR

~ Hi, Honey card ~

hihoneyadj

This card was made up of scrap papers – I used MFT‘s BluePrints # 1 to do all the layers for my card. My main image (yes, I am using the adorable Bee girl again) was stamped on watercolor paper with Versafine black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder and then I water colored her using my “Ziggy“s and a wet paintbrush.

Such a fun image to color – I love it.

DAY 4 – DELIGHTFUL DIE-CUTTING

~ You’re Brilliant card ~

brilliantadj

My lightbulb card was die cut using Lightbulb Die-namics from MFT.  Scrap paper was used for all pieces, including the vellum and shiny silver paper, except for the cool chevron paper – that was part of a prize from MFT. One of their paper pads – I die cut the panel using Vertical Stitched Rectangles. Sentiment (from this set) was stamped on it with Versamark Ink and embossed with white powder. For the rays I used two post-it notes and placed them and then sponged Daffodil Delight ink in between where I placed the papers. After all the rays were sponged I added Wink of Stella to each of the rays and the vellum layer of the lightbulb.

Morning Is NOT my Friend!

So, this morning I woke up early and could not go back to sleep.

I decided to go in my craft room and play!

~ Morning is NOT my Friend card ~

morningnotfriendadj

This fun and simple card started with a top folding Only Orange (SU!) card base. To that I added some scraps that were cut with Paper Smooches Scalloped Frames – I inlaid the middle back in the frame. I stamped the Coffee Loving girl from the Moka Sunshine set from Taylored Expressions onto watercolor paper. I stamped in black Versafine ink and embossed with clear powder. Of course, I colored her in with my “Ziggy“s, fussy cut her out and put her on my card with foam squares. A speech bubble was added and two of the sentiments from Moka Sunshine were added. One was embossed with white embossing powder. A few random enamel dots and jewels spiced it up!

~This Bright, Sunshine-y card is headed to these link-ups~

YOU ARE REALLY COOL!!!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

There is SUNSHINE in my soul today!

I needed a little pick-me-up this morning so I went into my craft room to play around a bit!

I played around with my “Ziggy”s, a die cut and a stencil.

Using those things I made two sunshine cards!

~Sunshine Happy Birthday~

birthdaysunadj

To make this card I used a circle die cut as a guide on my watercolor paper. I cut my paper using the stitched rectangles from Lawn Fawn – LOVE those!! See the photo below. Then I used 3 colors of  “Ziggy“s – yellow, bright yellow , and orange and colored in some with each color and then used a wet paintbrush to blend the colors.

makingsun

Then to make the rays I used a Simon Says Stamp Layered Tree Stencil. (See Below) I used the zig pens to trace the outline of the stencil and then filled it in by wetting the ink and blending it with a wet paintbrush.

treestencil

Finished off the card by doing a really, really light blue wash and added a sentiment from SU! – stamped it with Only Orange craft ink and embossed it with clear powder.

To add a little pizzazz to my card I used some Doodlebug Sprinkles – Tangerine and BumbleBee.

My cardstock layers and coloring of image are in the following colors – So Saffron, Blush Blossom, Rose Red from Stampin’ Up!I used my “Ziggy“s for the rest of the coloring.  I used Stitched Rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn and my circle die is from MFT. Citrus & Such – Take 2

I really was NOT kidding when I said I love this set from Stampin’ Up!

Citrus & Such – an oldie but such a GOODIE!!! (This link goes to Pinterest and there is a photo of the set)

~ So I made another card – Here it is ~

citrusonelayeradj

I used the aforementioned set with Only Orange, Daffodil Delight inkpads and I colored on the slice with Pretty in Pink and Apricot Appeal markers. I masked all the images using Post-It notes, and then covered all the images up and used the Diagonal Stripe stencil from Simon Says Stamp in Certainly Celery to create a background! I also used a splatter stamp with the Apricot Appeal marker and added some more color to the background! I used a sentiment from the Chit Chat Stamp set from Paper Smooches stamped in Tangelo Twist!

This is a simple one-layer, “mailable” card!! I need so many of this kind!

Starry Smile

I’ve got stars in my eyes today because of the card I made today! I shaded and blended!

~Here is my card~

Smilestarsadj

To start I made a stencil using a piece of chipboard that I used these dies on – the smallest two stars from Stars Framelit dies from Stampin’ Up!, and the two stars in the School Time Dies Set from Sunny Studio Stamps and the fifth star was a thank you on my latest order from Sunny Studio Stamps!

~This is what it looked like~

starstenciladj

After the stars were on it I also die cut a Small Stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn. I used the largest one from that set which measured 5 by 3.75 inches.  I also cut a panel from white card stock too! Then I cut the stars out from the white piece also.

Using my homemade star stencil I taped it down on a white card base. Then using Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry (both from SU!) I sponged in the stars using a Sponge Dauber.

I then took the white stitched rectangle with the stars cut out and sponged  on it with two blues – Night of Navy and Taken with Teal (also from SU!). After sponging I put water droplets on my card and patted them off with a paper towel. Then using foam squares I put the rectangle over the card front where the stars were so they could be seen through the blue. I also added some Clear Glitter -Wink of Stella to my stars.

I needed a sentiment so I used my Smile die from Little Yellow Bicycle  -that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and cut it out of some dark blue vellum that I had in my paper file!

I put the word smile and the Pretty Pink Posh sequins on with micro glue dots.

~Ok – now that my card is done, it is going to play in these challenges~

Well, I am glad you came by and I hope you will leave me some love!!

Have a super BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Rainbow Love

I played around a little yesterday with masking and sponging and I came up with this card:

heartrainbowcardadj

I used a homemade circle stencil and 2 Paper Smooches stamp sets to make this card! The stamp sets I used are Word Salad and Smoocheroos. I took all the hearts and stamped them at the top of a Post-It note like this –

heartmasksadj

Then I very carefully cut them out! They all had sticky stuff on them since I had stamped them up at the top of the Post-It note! Then I took my homemade circle stencil – made out of chipboard and various sized circle punches – situated the largest circle where I wanted it and then placed the large heart mask inside the circle as shown here:

circlestenciladj

I used Sponge Daubers – 1 per color and did each circle/heart smaller than the one before it!! I staggered them in an upward diagonal on my simple white card base.  Inks I used are a Calypso Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad and for the orange I used Tangelo Twist from Stampin’ Up!

After sponging all the circles the masks were all colored up so I added them to the card except the red one because I put the “Love You” text by that one.
