Fairy Girl & Beach Boy

This morning I would like to share 2 more of the cards I made yesterday!!

~ Golden Fairy Girl card ~

SugarPea2adj

First thing I did for this card is die cut all my pieces – a circle from MFT,  small banners from Stampin’ Up! which I cut one end off of. I also trimmed a gold striped shiny scrap to 4 1/4″ by 2 1/2″. I took a side folding A2 card and placed it in the Polka Dots embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!.

I stamped my cute fairy girl from the Fairy Sweet set by Sugar Pea Designs with Versamark ink and embossed with gold powder. Colored her in using my “Ziggy“s and added Wink Of Stella clear pen to add sparkle!

I also made this card using an Adorable stamp set from SU! – Beach Babies (circa 1999)

~ Beach Boy Sunshine Card ~

I loved how this card turned out – first thing I did was use an oval die cut from MFT to make my template to stamp and shade in. I penciled in a line where my boy and sandcastle would go, then I stamped them in Versafine ink and embossed them with clear powder. All my coloring was done with my “Ziggy“s and the shading was done using Bliss Blue ink and Creamy Caramel ink – both from SU! I used masking paper from Inkadinkado to cover up my images while I shaded. I used the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and replacement foams for the various colors.  I cut out the sun that I had stamped and colored and put it on with foam squares.  Sentiment came from a Sunny Studio Stamps set called Tropical Paradise – also stamped and embossed.  I die cut my whole panel using Stitched Rectangle die from Lawn Fawn – added it to a Brilliant Blue card base and I was done.

~ Cheers to You card ~

I had this idea in my head and I really want to play in the Curtain Call challenge so I sat down with the Tropical Paradise set from Sunny Studio Stamps and whipped up this tasty card! I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed the images in white. Then I stamped each of the images onto a post-it note so I could mask them and do the circle of shading with Cool Caribbean ink (SU!) My “Ziggy“s were used to color the images and make a grey base for the scene. The sentiment was then stamped in the same color as the circle and I added a few blue splatters – I am not sure the photo picked that up very well!!

Soak Up the Sun

I got up bright and early this morning – Up with the Sun and I hid out in my craft room for awhile making this card!!! SO much fun!!

~ Soak Up the Sun ~

flamingosadj

I dug into my Doodlebug stash and used two Designer papers from the Sunkissed collection. I layered them on my card. Cut a Stitched Rectangle (Lawn Fawn) from white card stock and then added a skinny layer to it of Tempting Turquoise card stock (SU!). Now I could create my scene, I sponged and dotted some sand using Creamy Caramel ink and a marker, then I used Bliss Blue to sponge my sky. I set this aside and started working on my images.

I stamped with Black Versafine ink onto watercolor paper the flamingos, flower, and leaf from the Sunny Studios stamp set called Tropical Paradise. Embossed each image using clear embossing powder. I used my “Ziggy“s to color and then a wet paintbrush to blend. Using the Tropical Paradise die set also from Sunny Studio I cut the images out using my Big shot! My beautiful friend Mendi Yoshikawa gave this stamp set with dies to me for my birthday!! Thank you so much, Mendi!!

Now I just assembled my scene and used foam squares to adhere the pieces. Then I stamped the Soak Up the Sun sentiment in Memento black ink!

Starry Smile

I’ve got stars in my eyes today because of the card I made today! I shaded and blended!

~Here is my card~

Smilestarsadj

To start I made a stencil using a piece of chipboard that I used these dies on – the smallest two stars from Stars Framelit dies from Stampin’ Up!, and the two stars in the School Time Dies Set from Sunny Studio Stamps and the fifth star was a thank you on my latest order from Sunny Studio Stamps!

~This is what it looked like~

starstenciladj

After the stars were on it I also die cut a Small Stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn. I used the largest one from that set which measured 5 by 3.75 inches.  I also cut a panel from white card stock too! Then I cut the stars out from the white piece also.

Using my homemade star stencil I taped it down on a white card base. Then using Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry (both from SU!) I sponged in the stars using a Sponge Dauber.

I then took the white stitched rectangle with the stars cut out and sponged  on it with two blues – Night of Navy and Taken with Teal (also from SU!). After sponging I put water droplets on my card and patted them off with a paper towel. Then using foam squares I put the rectangle over the card front where the stars were so they could be seen through the blue. I also added some Clear Glitter -Wink of Stella to my stars.

I needed a sentiment so I used my Smile die from Little Yellow Bicycle  -that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and cut it out of some dark blue vellum that I had in my paper file!

I put the word smile and the Pretty Pink Posh sequins on with micro glue dots.

~Ok – now that my card is done, it is going to play in these challenges~
