Newton Enjoys Summer

So, here it is, my second card that I made today!!!

It was fun, I watercolored again!!

newtonenjoysig

I made this card using the set called Newton’s Summer Vacation from Newton’s Nook!

Stamped the image and sentiment with the  Versafine – Onyx Black  inkpad and used Clear ultra fine embossing powder.

Colored images in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a Zig Detailer Watercolor brush!

This was so fun to make – I diecut a circle and a banner and put it on a turquoise card base!!

I am linking this card up to the following 9, YES 9 challenges!!!

I played around and made this card:

rainbowpopsiclesig

I made this card using the Lawn Fawn stamp set – Here’s The Scoop and matching dies! They can also be purchased here at 7kidscollegefund.com The colored rectangles in the background were scraps and I cut them with a stitched die, same with the longer white rectangle that stretches the width of the card! I used some black twine to add interest!

Watercolor Blog Hop – take 2

Just a friendly reminder – I have a GIVEAWAY going on HERE until June 10th, 2015

I was playing with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and decided to try something that Jennifer McGuire suggested! She said you could use a Wink Of Stella pen to blend your colors after you had put ink on your paper from the markers – she talks about it in a video HERE!

I tried this – just putting down the basic colors of the rainbow and after each one blending it with my Wink of Stella pen – When I was through I die cut a banner out of my stripes and decided to add it to this card:

rainbowfriendsig

I added the banner to a piece of light blue cardstock with foam squares! Tied some black crochet thread around the banner and knotted it!  Die cut the sentiment from a Big Friend word die from Paper SmoochesCovered my word with Glossy Accents – let it dry overnight and then adhered it to my card using Multi-Medium Matte from Ranger Layered the light blue on a black card base and added a jumbo jewel and some sequins from Doodlebug!

Watercolor Blog Hop – take 1

Just a friendly reminder – I have a GIVEAWAY going on HERE until June 10th, 2015

You know, I just have to say that sometimes I have to pull myself away and find a way to center so that I can create!!

I finally got a chance to do just that – here is what I created:

wcbloomsrainbowsig

I used a stamp set – Bohemian Garden from Ellen Hutson – to stamp a side border of flowers. I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold powder!! There was masking involved – I then watercolored my flowers using my new Zig clean color real brush markers and a Zig water pen!! So much fun – love doing this!! Embossed also in gold a SU! sentiment and added a trio of sequins!!!

Circles Happy Birthday

Played in my craft room today before going to enjoy a fun and wonderful lunch with family and friends!! I got to see my girlies (my 3 granddaughters) They were so sweet and helped me eat my Chicken Caesar salad – between the 3 of them, I was left with the lettuce!! It was still really good times and made my heart happy!!

But here is one of the cards –

circlesbdaysig

Using several of my circle punches and a piece of chipboard I made a stencil of sorts to do this background!

I drew the lines on with a black pen and stamped a happy birthday sentiment between my drawn lines!!

A “Rainbow” bag

Just dashing in to share the “Rainbow” bag I created!!

My friend’s adorable little girl is having a birthday and she loves the My Little Pony called Rainbow Dash. I wanted the gift bag to match her present so this is what I made:

rainbowbagsig

I used the Rainbow Die from My Favorite Things and the cloud die from Paper Smooches!

Added a Sunshine using the Crayon Kids SU! stamp set!! And I have a Crayon alphabet set from them as well that I used to spell her name!!! I used a cloud stencil on the blue background but it was so subtle and I don;t think you can tell from the picture!!

I love making beautiful things for special people in my life – I hope she loves her present AND the bag!!!

Hope you find time to make something BEAUTIFUL today!!

Hugs to you all!!

Showers & Rainbows

If you are looking for my DoubleClick Skittles post it is here!

I used this stamp set – I know it is a flower set but I used 2 pieces of this set to make the rainbow and raindrops – can you find the stamps I used? This set is Watercolor Garden by Stampin’ Up!

watercolorgarden

The clouds are Paper Smooches dies and the sentiment – You color my world is also from them! I used Lily White glitter cardstock from Doodlebug Design for the clouds!

Rainbow Happy Birthday

Does anybody remember me saying that I wanted to play with die cuts more and get better at using them – well here is an attempt I made –  I played with some Paper Smooches Dies today and made this card:

colorworld2sig

~~Please click on the picture to get a better look at it – I am not sure I got the right lighting~~

You know how you get a picture in your head of what something is going to look like and then it doesn’t?!? Well, that is how this turned out! I used watercolor pencils to color a strip of paper in ROY G BIV colors and then used a blender pen on them!! Then I lined up the Happy Birthday PS die and cut it out!! Used a clouds die – also from PS to get my cloud trio!! Then the “You Color my World” stamp is from PS as well!  I colored the word ‘color’ with markers and stamped the rest blue!

I made this card to go in the following challenge:

Paper Smooches – January 18-24 Anything Goes (wk3) challenge

Anything Goes PSS FINAL

SPARKS BADGE

One of these days after I play around a LOT more with my Paper Smooches products I am going to try for the monthly Guest Search they do over at Paper Smooches!! When I do that – you will see lots of Paper Smooches projects posted here!!

But I think I need some practice first and I need to spruce up my style – I feel like their designers are in a top-notch league of crafters!!

Thanks for coming by – I hope you have a RAINBOW day!!!

I’m B-A-C-K!!!!!

I am so excited, obviously since I couldn’t wait til tomorrow( the day I said I would officially be back), to be back at creating beautiful things and blogging about them!!

I spent hours in my craft room on Saturday afternoon – I struggled with where to start, so I decided to give the challenges on the internet a looksie and it worked!! Ironic, I know that my first post back should be from a challenge – but frankly that is where the inspiration came from and it was easy to meet this particular challenge because I have had this idea swimming around in my head for a while!

The challenge I am entering is over at CAS-ology, week 110: Letter

Week 110 - Letter

The card I ended up creating involved some masking and using bright colors –

Using SU! stamps - Perfect Plaids and Tidy Alphabet this CAS birthday card came about! Perfect for the CAS-ology challenge - Letters

Using SU! stamps – Perfect Plaids and Tidy Alphabet this CAS birthday card came about! Perfect for the CAS-ology challenge – Letters

I showcased each letter with a Perfect Plaid stripe masking each letter in the middle – this made each letter stand out as an important part of the whole!  Anyway the idea had been floating around in my mind since I saw this pin right here! A shout out to Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink for my inspiration!!

Smartly, I stamped up four of these cards with matching envelopes – the front of the envelope says hi! in the Tidy Alphabet and the envelope flap has the same 5 colored stripes as the card does!! I say smartly because I am running dangerously low on mailable birthday cards!  It took some time but I am glad that as long as I had all the stuff out I decided to create more than one!! I hope you found some inspiration here today and hope you find a way to make something beautiful (or cute) today!!

Also adding this card to these two challenges:  (since my friend at Just me:C encouraged me too, what a great friend!!!)
