Smile & Share JOY

Made this flower-y Happy card!!

I made this card using scraps from my scrap box – pink and peach colored papers – I then die cut them with Stitched horizontal strips by My Favorite Things! The flower images and dies are from a set called Oh Happy Day from  Taylored Expressions. I used my “Ziggy”s to watercolor these flowers in using a wet paintbrush.

Sailing in with Birthday Wishes

Sailing in  and Rounding out my inky trio with another card!

~From All of Us~

Oh, this card was fun – I got so inky!! My fingers are all blue. I cut out two ovals of the same size from MFT and then I tore one of them into wave like pieces – three of them. I sponged Brilliant Blue ink onto them and layered them on my second white oval and trimmed off any edges with my scissors. I sponged the cloudy background using some cloud die cuts as masks. The sailboat is from a forever ago Stampin’ Up set called Seasonal Solids. I used markers to color on the stamp and then I cut the boat out and put it in the waves with foam tape! The red card was embossed using a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Swirls. And the blue strip was form my scrap box. Simple message at the bottom – From all of us. Then inside it says – Happy Birthday!

I stamped the tennis ball on the green paper. I colored in with my “Ziggy”s.  After assembling all the pieces I decided to jazz it up with some Double Click Skittles and some wood veneer arrows that I inked up so they were matching the colors on the card.

Happy 200th CASology

The CASology challenge blog is celebrating their 200th challenge – HOW AWESOME IS THAT????

The Challenge for this time is CAS AND there is Blog Candy!!!

Week 200 - CAS

~My CAS card for this 200th challenge~

To make my CAS card I stamped flowers from the Persian Motifs set from Altenew. I stamped with Versamark Ink and used gold embossing powder. I colored in with my “Ziggy“s. I cut out the 2 smallest  Vertical Stitched strips from MFT – I pressed the larger one into the Versamark ink pad until it was completely inked up and then I poured embossing powder on it and embossed it. I used the smaller strip to cut from the flowers I had colored. Then I layered them together and placed them on this simple white card frontStamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same set and embossed it too. Now my card is done!!

I hope it meets the CAS requirements – which are:

  1. One main image
  2. Lots of open space, uncluttered
  3. Limited layers & embellishments
  4. Quick & easy to recreate (Note: It may take a while to create a design you like, but once you have that design, making more should be a piece of cake!)

I hope all of you at CASology are celebrating BIG-time, this is a huge accomplishment!!

~I also want to link up to these challenges~

Birthday Cards – Another Twofer

Here are the other two cards I made during some play time this past weekend!

~Card # 1 Purple Flowers~

For this card I used a top folding piece of Lavender Lace cardstock and a 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″ piece of thick vellum. First thing I did was use a circle die from MFT to cut out a circle from the vellum. I put the panel minus the circle into a Tim Holtz Notebook embossing folder. Used a 1/8″ hole punch to attach the vellum with ribbon to the card front. For the circle I die cut out I stamped some flowers from Heartfelt Thanks stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The ink colors used were Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, and Garden Green – all from SU! I carefully laid the circle back in and put adhesive behind the flowers to secure it there!
