Rainbow Love

I played around a little yesterday with masking and sponging and I came up with this card:

I used a homemade circle stencil and 2 Paper Smooches stamp sets to make this card! The stamp sets I used are Word Salad and Smoocheroos. I took all the hearts and stamped them at the top of a Post-It note like this –

Then I very carefully cut them out! They all had sticky stuff on them since I had stamped them up at the top of the Post-It note! Then I took my homemade circle stencil – made out of chipboard and various sized circle punches – situated the largest circle where I wanted it and then placed the large heart mask inside the circle as shown here:

I used Sponge Daubers – 1 per color and did each circle/heart smaller than the one before it!! I staggered them in an upward diagonal on my simple white card base.  Inks I used are a Calypso Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad and for the orange I used Tangelo Twist from Stampin’ Up!

After sponging all the circles the masks were all colored up so I added them to the card except the red one because I put the “Love You” text by that one.

A Trio of Leaves

I was able to create a CAS – One Layer card this afternoon by doing some masking!!

This is what I created:

First, I die cut a rectangle out of chipboard, then I stamped the two leaves on a post-it note and cut them out for masks!! I took the negative of the rectangle and a leaf mask and sponged the Certainly Celery in the center! Then I used the rectangle diecut and the negative and the leaf so I could sponge Ruby Red in that area!! Next, I did the same thing using Pumpkin Pie! After I had sponged all the rectangles I stamped the leaves into the empty spaces – trying my best to line them up perfectly (NOT) but I think it looks good!! The Set I used is an SU! set called Fall Fun!! Last thing I did was use an American Crafts Gold pen to draw a light line around each rectangle!! This actually looks like the idea I had in my mind – Yippee!! So glad!!

I an linking this card up to these challenges:

Crayon Trio

After some laundry, chopping veggies and putting dinner in the Crock Pot I had time to create a card using a new technique to me!

This is the card I made:

I made this card using Lawn Fawn‘s Color My World stamp set and matching die!

Stamped the crayon with the  Versafine – Onyx Black  inkpad and used Clear ultra fine embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped with a VersaMark Ink Pad and embossed with White embossing powder!! I then colored over the letters in the word color with my colored pencils!

Colored the crayons in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a Zig Detailer Watercolor brush!

The jar is from an SU! set called Perfectly Preserved! I stamped it on an acetate sheet with a Black StazOn ink pad – trimmed around the edges and put it over the crayons I had stamped!! I had never stamped on acetate before!!

I used 1/8″ Scor-Tape from Classy Cards ‘n Such to adhere my acetate to the watercolor cardstock!

I want to link this card up to the following challenges:
