Birthday Stars

Got some guy birthdays coming up so I went to craft room and made 2 of this card!

~ Birthday Stars Card ~

It is not the best card I have ever made but I had fun coming up with it and making it!

I used all Stampin’ Up products – Night of Navy and Mint Macaron ink pads, card stock of those same colors. The stamp set I used is Perfect Plaids – so retro!! And the sentiment came from SU! too just not sure which set! I used two Stars Framelits to cut out my stars and I added a Wink of Stella to the navy star!

Sailing in with Birthday Wishes

Sailing in  and Rounding out my inky trio with another card!

~From All of Us~

Oh, this card was fun – I got so inky!! My fingers are all blue. I cut out two ovals of the same size from MFT and then I tore one of them into wave like pieces – three of them. I sponged Brilliant Blue ink onto them and layered them on my second white oval and trimmed off any edges with my scissors. I sponged the cloudy background using some cloud die cuts as masks. The sailboat is from a forever ago Stampin’ Up set called Seasonal Solids. I used markers to color on the stamp and then I cut the boat out and put it in the waves with foam tape! The red card was embossed using a Tim Holtz embossing folder called Swirls. And the blue strip was form my scrap box. Simple message at the bottom – From all of us. Then inside it says – Happy Birthday!

This card is for my husband – he loves Soda POP and he always delights us with his sense of humor!

Thursday GIVEAWAY time!!

Today marks the FOURTH of 8 giveaways that I will be doing for the month of October –

I am celebrating my BLOGAVERSARY!!!!

Today I just have the prize and

Here is today’s prize:

And The QUESTION is….

What holiday is most important to you & is there a tradition that helps you celebrate it?

For me it has to be CHRISTMAS – so many opportunities to make BEAUTIFUL things so I can show others that I care!! One of our traditions is to go and see “The Christmas Carol” at a local playhouse!! The man who plays Ebeneezer Scrooge is beyond Fantastic and I love it!!! We go to a showing of it on the last day they put it on which is usually on the 23rd of December – really sets the tone for the holiday for me!!!

You have until Friday, October 16th, 2015 at 10 pm (Mountain Standard Time) to leave me an answer to this question!!! I will let choose a winning comment and I will post the winner of this prize and the one I offered on Tuesday this Saturday, October 17th, 2015 by noon (MST)

Cannot wait to hear about your holidays and celebrations!!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

A Trio of Leaves

I was able to create a CAS – One Layer card this afternoon by doing some masking!!

This is what I created:

First, I die cut a rectangle out of chipboard, then I stamped the two leaves on a post-it note and cut them out for masks!! I took the negative of the rectangle and a leaf mask and sponged the Certainly Celery in the center! Then I used the rectangle diecut and the negative and the leaf so I could sponge Ruby Red in that area!! Next, I did the same thing using Pumpkin Pie! After I had sponged all the rectangles I stamped the leaves into the empty spaces – trying my best to line them up perfectly (NOT) but I think it looks good!! The Set I used is an SU! set called Fall Fun!! Last thing I did was use an American Crafts Gold pen to draw a light line around each rectangle!! This actually looks like the idea I had in my mind – Yippee!! So glad!!

I an linking this card up to these challenges:

This was obviously the inspiration for the 3 rectangles and their arrangement!!

Have A Ball!

Hello, there!! This morning I just “kicked” back in my craft room to make a card for my son’s 20th birthday tomorrow!!

He LOVES soccer – watches it, plays it, and knows all the stats!!

So I made him this:

It was pretty easy – I used a black scrap paper to add a balloon knot to the bottom of this soccer ball and added the # of how old he will be this year!! The red and the blue are the colors of his favorite Soccer team!! And I used some more alphabets to spell out “it’s your birthday” and added a twine string for the balloon!!! I think he will like it!!

Enjoy Today – A card for the First Day of School

Yes, I played for a little while in my craft room today – it was quite dreary here – liked it, but that is because I like the rain. But it was definitely a stay home and be in your PJ’s all day kind of day for me!!

I was playing around with some challenges and came up with this card for my granddaughter on her First Day of school –

I will have her parents give it to her on the morning of that much longed for First Day!!

I created this card with washi tape from Doodlebug Design – all 4 of them are part of the Back to School Collection! They are called Apple a day, Tape Measure, School Stripe, and  Colored Pencils!! Aren’t they all adorable??!!!!!!!

For the stamping on this card I used A Penny Black set called Sweet Wishes – it is primarily a Birthday set but I used the 2 sizes of stars and the Enjoy Today sentiment for this card!!

I colored the stars in with a Prismacolor yellow marker and then I added some bling – gems,  by my stars!!
