In the “Lime”light

We are celebrating my sister’s birthday this evening and I thought I might make a card for her – Now that it is done I realize I should have made a baseball shaped card for her – duh!!!

Oh, well! I can still link this card up to some challenges!

~Lime Happy Birthday~

I made this with some white cardstock and my Pinked Circle dies from MFT. Then I used a way old color from SU! – Green Galore and I used a stamping sponge to ink up my white pinked circle. I stamped and cut my lime from an old SU! set called Citrus and Such! Added some gems and stamped Happy Birthday from a Simon Says Stamp It’s your Birthday set in Gumball Green ink!

~So I am going to link this card up to these challenges~

Happy Christmas

I had a little fun in my craft room today before I am off to babysit the Grand-littles!!

~I Made this Christmas Card~

I made this card using the following colors of cardstock  from SU! – Regal Rose, Rose Romance, white and Basic Grey.   I used Small Stitched Rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn for two of my layers and the grey layer was die cut using Scalloped Rectangles also from  Lawn FawnI used a set called Happy MeowDay from Simon Says StampI stamped it with Black StazOn ink and colored it in with my Ziggy‘s but I forgot to stamp it on watercolor paper so my coloring does not look so good! I added a few random sequins!

I am hustling to add these card to these challenges:

I made a Christmas card!

Thank you for coming today – hope you are having a BEAUTIFUL day!

Starry Smile

I’ve got stars in my eyes today because of the card I made today! I shaded and blended!

~Here is my card~

To start I made a stencil using a piece of chipboard that I used these dies on – the smallest two stars from Stars Framelit dies from Stampin’ Up!, and the two stars in the School Time Dies Set from Sunny Studio Stamps and the fifth star was a thank you on my latest order from Sunny Studio Stamps!

~This is what it looked like~

After the stars were on it I also die cut a Small Stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn. I used the largest one from that set which measured 5 by 3.75 inches.  I also cut a panel from white card stock too! Then I cut the stars out from the white piece also.

Using my homemade star stencil I taped it down on a white card base. Then using Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry (both from SU!) I sponged in the stars using a Sponge Dauber.

I then took the white stitched rectangle with the stars cut out and sponged  on it with two blues – Night of Navy and Taken with Teal (also from SU!). After sponging I put water droplets on my card and patted them off with a paper towel. Then using foam squares I put the rectangle over the card front where the stars were so they could be seen through the blue. I also added some Clear Glitter -Wink of Stella to my stars.

I needed a sentiment so I used my Smile die from Little Yellow Bicycle  -that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and cut it out of some dark blue vellum that I had in my paper file!

I put the word smile and the Pretty Pink Posh sequins on with micro glue dots.

~Ok – now that my card is done, it is going to play in these challenges~

I think my star cluster with the sentiment across it fits this sketch!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Birthday Cards – Another Twofer

Here are the other two cards I made during some play time this past weekend!

~Card # 1 Purple Flowers~

For this card I used a top folding piece of Lavender Lace cardstock and a 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″ piece of thick vellum. First thing I did was use a circle die from MFT to cut out a circle from the vellum. I put the panel minus the circle into a Tim Holtz Notebook embossing folder. Used a 1/8″ hole punch to attach the vellum with ribbon to the card front. For the circle I die cut out I stamped some flowers from Heartfelt Thanks stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The ink colors used were Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, and Garden Green – all from SU! I carefully laid the circle back in and put adhesive behind the flowers to secure it there!

~This card is off to play in these challenges~

I colored them in with my”Ziggy“s – cut them out, added bling, Paper Studio gems, for sprinkles and put the images on with foam squares .

More playing yesterday & More Card Making

Here is one of my cards:

For this card I used YoYo Yellow cardstock from Stampin’ Up!  Stamped the word SHINE from a My Favorite Things stamp set called LLD Watt’s Up!  I stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white powder. The cute sunshine is from a Sizzix die – available here.  I added to the rays of the sunshine some Tangerine Doodlebug jewels!

Best Wishes – a “Whale”y Great Card

I feel like I can never have enough cards on hand for mens’ birthdays – So I made three of this card today to add to my arsenal! This one matched up well with 2 challenges.

Here is my card:

I used a stamp set that I received in a Studio Calico kit a couple years back! All the images on this card are from that set! Using Mint Macaron & Night of Navy ink pads I stamped up this scene. I did the generation stamping to get various depths of color for my ocean!  My whale features the “rock n’ roll” technique – inking up first in the mint and then rolling it on the navy ink pad. I covered my whale with glossy accents – I am not sure you can see that in this photo – but I did, really!! Then I used a Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkle for his eye!! And there you have it – My “Whale”y great card!!

I am linking this card up to these 2 challenges:

The Hop to Stop!!!

My BLOGAVERSARY is going on now – See more info HERE !!

If you’re wondering why everything (at least that’s Becca’s hope) in the blogosphere is turning purple… there IS a reason – the Hop to Stop is here!

the hop to stop

You see, purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in – 33% of all the women you meet.
And women aren’t the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender – gender doesn’t matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.
And yet, it’s something that is rarely talked about in very public ways. It’s something that’s hidden and hushed. And since papercrafters are some of the most amazing people out there, some of you have agreed to make a card (or cards) to raise awareness for this issue.  Together, we CAN make a powerful impact.

Speaking of amazingly awesome – ^^^ Do you SEE that graphic above?! These are all the incredible companies who’ve agreed to support this blog hop. 14 companies and over $500 in prizes! WE can’t thank them enough!
THE RULES (oh those pesky things…)
If you’d like to participate in the Hop to Stop, here’s how it works:
1 – Make a card that FEATURES purple
2 – Link it up HERE before October 14, 12noon CST
3 – New creations only please, no backlinking allowed
4 – Provide a link back to the Hop! (it would be great if you put the badge in, too!)
5 – You MUST comment on at least the 3 entries before you to be eligible to win (be a good neighbor) buuuuuuut visiting the sponsor blogs/shops is HIGHLY encouraged. (hey – they are pretty generous and it would be great if we could thank them! There might even be an extra special top-secret prize in it for someone – wink* wink*)
All the information and INSPIRATION you need is at Becca’s Blog!!
I am so touched by her beauty and her amazing efforts for this purpose!!!

My card – made for this incredible purpose – The Hop to Stop:
I used so many things from my PURPLE embellishment basket and added a sentiment and some PURPLE scrap papers from my box – I used an embossing folder to create the swirly background on the white paper!! Square die cuts were used and a banner die cut for the sentiment!!
My card is also joining these other challenges:
I turned the sketch upside down for my card!!
EVERYTHING on my card is from my stash that I have had for so long!!
I used 3 different dies on this card – 2 sized squares and the banners!
I Hope you will go over to Becca’s Blog and join us in the Hop to STOP!!!!
Wishing you a BEAUTIFUL day!!!
