Boy or Girl

For my card this time over at Simply Create Too – Challenge # 93: It’s a Special Occasion I made a duo of cards using old stamps (not sure of their names) from Stampin’ Up!

My card duo:

Ballet Blue paper and ink were used on the boy card!! Pretty in Pink paper and ink for the girl card!

Jute twine was used to hang the die cut tags and I used eyelets (remember those-LOL) on them!

And, YES, I did use a corrugator on the kraft paper strips!

And lastly, the grosgrain ribbon is from my bucket of ribbon scraps!!!

I am also linking this up to the following challenges:

My favorite color combo is Bright colors with the Primary colors being a BIG love of mine!!!

I did the Bleaching technique for the top blue panel and used the following SU! colors – YoYo Yellow, Ballet Blue, and Real Red!

Used an SU! set called “Smile” – another favorite of mine!!

The bleaching technique – the way I did it – in a small, flat, square plastic container that I could put the lid on – I put in there a square of thick felt and poured bleach onto and covering the felt square!! This became my inkpad – I then stamped with a spatter background stamp onto the blue paper!!!

Well, that is it for me for today and I can’t promise how soon I will be back but I will see you then!!!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Simply Create Too: Challenge # 79 – Anything Goes

Hi There and welcome to my blog!!!

I created the following card as my Design Team assignment for Simply Create Too‘s challenge # 79 – Anything Goes! You still have time as the challenge does not end until February 26, 2015 – So please come join us!!!

yellow happy mail sig

As I made this card I decided to use it to share with my Women’s group at Church!! I taught a lesson on “Having JOY” last Sunday!  As part of my lesson I stressed the importance of sharing JOY once you have it – and of course I told them they could do that by writing and sending Happy Mail!! There are approximately 40 women in the group so I made 42 each of 3 cards – This is the first one I am showing you, the other 2 will follow soon!!  I bet you are just dying with anticipation!!! hehe 😉

I so appreciate when you all stop by!! Leave me a little note so I know you were here!!

Have a Beautiful Day and send some Happy Mail if you can!!!

Simply Create Too – Challenge 77 Mother’s Day (or for a female) **Happy Mail Winner**

This time at Simply Create Too challenge blog it is all about the ladies!!!

The challenge is #77 Mother’s Day (or for a female)

You have from January 16, 2015 to January 29, 2015 at midnight [CDT-US] to play!!

I really hope you will join us – I will look forward to seeing your creations in the link-up!!

When I decided to make my card I wanted something fun, cute and whimsical since that is more my style!! I thought about something with flowers but I feel like I am not so great with them, maybe I need to practice with them more

Anyway –  Here is what I came up with:

Ch77mothersday2sig

Yes, I used, you guessed it, old Stampin’ Up! sets for all of this card!! Not even sure what stamp sets they are from but that’s what happens when your stamp cases break and you have to relocate your stamps!! That happened last year when I reorganized my new craft room and cleaned things up!!

Create something for Mother’s Day or for a female and join us over at Simply Create Too!!

Also — Today is January 16th — the day I said I would do a Happy Mail prize drawing!!!

So, what I have done is made a list of Happy Mail peeps and put them in numerical order according to when I received their email saying “I want Happy Mail”! Each person has been assigned a number and that will be their Happy Mail follower number for all future drawings!!! Hope it makes sense!!

So for today’s drawing I decided to pick 2 numbers with Random.org  and give out 2 prizes:

# 14 Patti Kehl

# 17 Barbara Roe

What do these ladies win????

Their choice of $10 to spend at either Micheals, JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby!!

Patti and Barbara – let me know your choice ASAP so I can send out your prizes!!!!

For you who are just new to my blog – you might want to check out what Happy Mail is all about – You can do that by clicking on the tab above next to the Home and About Tabs!! Hope you will join us!! Another drawing will be done on February 11th!!

As always – I am grateful for your visit and hope to see you soon!!!

Yahoo!!! 100th Post (with a giveaway)

I am so very, very excited to be making my 100th post!!

My post today is featuring a card I made for my DT assignment over at Simply Create Too challenge blog!!

The challenge over there that is going on right now is # 75 – “Snow! Snow! Snow! [or use ALL white]

The linky closes on midnight, Thursday, December 4th!!!

Be sure to get your creation linked up by then!!!

I am so excited because for the challenge # 74 – Thanksgiving/Thank You  one of my followers was a winner!! Congratulations to Penny Ward!!!  Be sure to pop over and visit her blog www.pennywardink.com – she is very talented and such a sweet lady!!!

Ok, now for my card!! I used a way out of date super cute Stampin’ Up! snowman set!! I don’t even remember the name of the set,  it was foam mounted (gives you a clue as to how old it is) and I don’t even have the original packaging!  If I had to take a guess I would say that the name of the stamp set is Stitched Snowman – but that is just a guess!!

Since I was using such an “old school” stamp set I decided to do something else not done too much anymore and that is chalking!! I used my Stampin’ Up! chalks to color this cute little snowman!  Here he is:

snowforyouwithsignature

Thank you for checking out my “cool” friend!!

As for my 100th post celebration I am so very excited to offer a $20 gift card to Michael’s, Joann’s or Hobby Lobby – the winner will choose which store she wants to shop at!! Leave me a comment to be entered!! Also, if you become a new follower or if you already are, then leave a comment saying you follow me and you will get another chance to win!!

This giveaway will end at midnight, Friday December 5th and the winner will be announced Saturday morning (Dec 6th) by noon!!

I wish you all lots of luck!!

Please be sure to send others over to my blog to check it out – I would really be grateful to pick my blog traffic back up a bit!! I want you all to know, that you are the BEST!! I am so totally grateful for this opportunity to be a blogger and have the followers that I do!!

If this is your first time at my blog – please wander around and if you are so inclined to become a follower I would love that so much!! Check out the tab up above by the Home button to find out what “Happy Mail” is all about!! Would love to have you join us!!

Fun Christmas things are in store for my “Happy Mail” peeps!!!

See you all again very soon!!

New Design Team Gig

Oh, I am very excited and very belated in my announcement of being picked to be on the Simply Create Too Challenge blog Design Team.  It all happened back in September when my dad was really sick and then passed away – so this unfortunately delayed my ability to participate right away.

But just recently I was spotlighted and announced as a member of the team. Although the wrong photo was put in the post – it is of a fellow team member and is not me.  You can read all about that here!

In that same post I have my first Design Team project – the challenge for the card in this particular post is over but the newest one is Challenge # 74: “Thanksgiving/Thank You” – the link closes on Thursday, November 20th at midnight! So you could still hop on over with a card and link it up!! I sincerely hope you will!!

So without any more hemming and hawing – here is my card that I did for my first submission as a Design Team member:

butterfliescard

I made this card by “shopping in my stash” since that was Challenge # 73!!

I used the stamp sets – Simple Shapes, and the butterfly is from Gladsome Garden!! Both are by Stampin’ Up!

What a great experience this is going to be for me – looking forward to working with all the lovely ladies on this design team!! Thank you to Diane Goolsby who is in charge and is a wonderful, caring lady!!

Thanks for coming by – I am feeling much better!  And I plan to share many more things with you!!!

ETA – I linked up this card at Loves Rubber Stamps Challenges – #127: Things with Wings
