Love Notes for Retreat # 2

Before I start this post – I have a confession to make:

I. CAN’T. DO. EVERYTHING.

I told myself I could BUT then found out I lied!!!

I am SO SORRY to have been lacking in the Commenting area – I know that I have not done well with that and have fallen GROSSLY behind!! I am OVERWHELMED and want to just start a fresh, clean slate!! I love all your blogs and love seeing what delights you dazzle us with and sharing with you what I enjoyed makes me happy so I  will try to be better!! Thank you for your understanding!!

On that note, let me add — I am blogging from bed today about my Retreat because I seem to have caught some kind of yucky flu bug!! Luckily pictures are all taken – and all I have to do is the actual post part!! Hope you enjoy Day # 3!

Today I want to share about the Love Notes Kit I made for each person! The idea was to encourage all my friends to notice nice things about each other and then tell them in a little note!

The Love Notes Kit looked like this:

lovenotekitfrsig

And on the back – it had a description of what was in each kit:

lovenotekittextsig

And there was also a pen washi taped onto the back

lovenotebacksig

And I closed it on the front with a mini tag and a black clothespin that I added a twine bow and button to!

Here are the mint, toothpicks, and chocolate kiss – this is how I bagged them up

Card # 2 You Make Me Smile

makemesmilemcsig

Also 3 by 3 inches this card features another die cut from the same Pebbles 12 by 12 paper! I had cut some pink cardstock for these cards and used some envelopes that I had! Sequins were added to dazzle it up a bit!!

Card # 3 All You Have to Do is Fly

butterflymcsig

I feel so repetitious because this card is ALSO 3 by 3 inches and made with a Pebbles Die cut – layered it on some pink scraps from my scrap box!! I think this 12 by 12 piece of paper that I cut everything from is amazing!! I will post a pic at the end of the post!

Card # 4 Sweet

sweetbuttonmcsig

Made from a premade tab note – 2 by 3 inch size! I added Gold paper and a wood button from American Crafts that said Sweet on it – I tied some really thin jute twine through the button holes and used a 1″ glue dot to secure it to the card!!

Here is the picture of the sheet of die cuts that I cut up and used from Pebbles, Inc.

12 Days of Doodlebug – Day 2

** My Post for the Light It Up Blue Blog Hop is here – I have Blog Candy**

~If you missed DAY 1 of 12 Days of Doodlebug – click here~

Welcome to the 12 Days of Doodlebug – DAY 2

12daysofdoodlebugsig

I am so excited about this 12 day series that I am doing here on my blog – I LOVE DOODLEBUG and I have been a user and collector for the past 15 years!! Anything made by them delights and excites me – I love their bright, happy colors and incredibly cute icons and borders they make!! I thought doing this series would be a perfect way for me to lead up to and celebrate my birthday with you – There will be prizes – more on that at the end!!!

DAY 2 – Altered Clipboard Decoration

Please click on picture to have it made bigger – so you can see the details!!

dbclipboardsig

I used this adorable 5″ by 7″ clipboard from Pebbles, Inc:

pebblesincclipboard

that I decided to spruce up for a decoration!! I looked at this sheet of Doodlebug – Hello Sunshine! Designer Paper:

doodlebug-hello-sunshine-12x12-springtime

I knew that any of these 4 by 6 images would look cute on this clipboard. I chose the 2nd one down on the right side!! I cut it out and layered it on a piece of Blueberry Doodlebug cardstock that measured 4 1/2″ by 7 1/2″. I left it bigger on the top on purpose so that I could use this Scalloped edge punch from Stampin’ Up! to create the top border!

scallopedborderpunch

I adhered the 4 by 6 image I had chosen to the blue background. I added 2 stickers from the This n’ That sticker sheet to the bottom – one was the word beautiful and the second one was a tag that said sunshine!! I added a little piece of twine to the hole in the tag sticker!

Then I cut 7″ lengths of ribbons from my ribbon scrap jar in coordinating colors and tied them to the circle in the top metal part of the clipboard! I tied them with double knots and then trimmed them!! I had a small plastic easel and that is what my finished product rests on!! Please click on the pictures to make them bigger and easier to see the details!!!

Sounds like a lot of work but it really was pretty easy – the hardest part was choosing an image!!

There you go – I used Doodlebug products to make a Home Decor project!! Stay tuned for Day 3 where I will be adding one more thing made for my Holiday/Seasonal Decor table!! And I will post a picture of how it all looks together!!

As a bonus to this event – I am giving away Prizes/Gifts to Celebrate My BIRTHDAY!!!!!

The Prizes I will be giving away will be pictured soon –

A Corner Chomper, a $25 gift certificate to any store, A Stampin’ Up! stamp set, An Avery Elle mini stamp with die

Visiting all your blogs helps a lot – Thank you for all you do!!!

Garden Party by Pebbles, Inc. Take 1

I call this Take One because I am going to share 4 cards each in 3 posts over the next few days!!

These 12 cards came from a confined to bed day when I was feeling dizzy and had already fainted once!! This happens to me sometimes when a migraine gets way out of hand!! But that is not the point – these fun cards are!!!

Anyways – I had my daughter bring me scissors, adhesive, and this collection of papers, stickers, mini envelopes and cards, and chipboard – Well I guess I asked for a paper cutter, too!!!

Here are views of the parts of the collection I had:

GardenPartycollection

GPcollection1

GPcollection3

Once I had all this stuff in front of me I went to town – it was easy with all the fabulous parts of this Garden Party, Pebbles, Inc. collection!!!  Visit that link to see close-ups of all the good stuff I was working with!

So here are 4 pics of cards I made:

GPthinkofyousig

GPhappydaysig

GPlovelysig

GPthankssig

Each one of these cards feature some kind of pocket with the note part of the card being inserted into the pocket!! I already sent one of these out – the Sorry for your loss card!! Sent to a dear friend who had lost her dad recently!!

I hope the pictures speak for themselves, I didn’t feel very wordy right now so no overlong descriptions!  If you have any questions about how I did something I will certainly answer – it’s not a secret!! 😉   For me it was a whirlwind afternoon of crafting fun!!

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope that you like what you see!!

Have a beautiful day!!!

Think Happy

It has been a migraine riddled night and day for me – but I wanted to still post something for today!!

I made this card last week in my Pebbles, Inc. card making frenzy where I made 16 cards with the Garden Party collection – This one was made to remind someone dear to me to “Think Happy, Be Happy” – I think these words could be for me today as well because I get so discouraged when I don’t feel well and can’t function!!!

Here is the card I made –

GPhappysquaresig

And here is the card with the tag pulled out of its’ cute envie –

GPhappysquare2sig

I will write a little love note on the back of that tag and get it sent off to someone dear!!!

Since it is a square card it will cost more to mail but it will be worth it!!!

I will be back to show more of the cards made from that afternoon but for now I am just trying to rest and get over this migraine!!!

I hope you are well – and that you know how truly awesome you are!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Front Porch – by Pebbles, Inc.

A few months ago a really sweet blogger sent me a HUGE stuffed box of Pebbles, Inc. products!!!

Wendy Antenucci is awesome and you could stop by and visit her blog On the Road to Destiny sometime!!!!

For today, I am going to show you a pic of the stuff that belonged in the Front Porch Collection and then show you several cards I made with this stash!!

Here is the stash – just the Front Porch collection part:

FrontPorchcollection

So using the paper, the stickers, the pockets with flower cutouts, the chipboards and the frames I made the following 6 cards:

FPthankyousig

Used background paper, pocket with flower cutout and twine to make this one – and rounded the top corners!

FPthinkofyousig

Ditto!!

FPhisig

Ditto!

FPhellosig

And Ditto!

FPsmilesig

Made these next 2 by putting background paper in the frame and putting it onto a card, then added the chipboard and stickers!

FPthankssig

I had to cut the card down about 1 inch because the frame was more square than rectangular!!!

Well, what do you think – I made these 6 cards in about one hour!! It was a fun, productive hour!! I have already sent one of these off to someone for a Birthday!! It was easy because of all the matching, cute things in this collection!! I will be back another day to show you what I did with the Garden Party Pebbles, Inc collection!!! Boy, that might have to be broken in to several posts – I made 16 cards with that stash!!!  But, look for it soon!!!

I would like to publicly thank Wendy Antenucci and Pebbles, Inc. for making these cards possible!!!!

Thanks so much for sticking with me through this picture heavy post – You are the best!!

You should let me know which one is your favorite!!

And, remember a Happy Mail prize drawing will be done on January 16th for members of my Happy Mail group — so stay tuned for that!!!

Just A Note

inkspirational word prompt template

I figure my “note” and my sentiment “Just a Note” fit this challenge!!!

This card was super fun to make and I am super excited about being able to enter it into these two challenges!!

Thanks for the visit – Leave me a “note” to say Hi!!!

Back To School Decor with Countdown

Last year for Back to School I decided to put up some decor and a countdown to help get some excitement going for the back to school time!! I had a small tree that sat on this corner shelf of our kitchen bench so I went to all my diecuts and papercrafting supplies to create some decorations!!

Here is our tree:

Our Back to School tree - decorated with twine bows and mini school icon ornaments and an alphabet letters garland!!

Our Back to School tree – decorated with twine bows and mini school icon ornaments and an alphabet letters garland!!

I used some ABC  circle stickers from Pebbles, Inc to make my garland.  I put the stickers on bigger circles and then sewed them all together in one big long line! For the ornaments I used stickers and diecuts – some of which I put on punched out scallop circles.  For all of them, I punched a hole in the corner and used twine to create a hanger loop.  Last of all, I took some school colored twine and tied random bows on the tree to fill up empty spots!! I used a larger die cut as my tree topper!!

Here is a close-up of the top of the tree:

A close - up of the top of our Back to School Tree

On the shelf next to the tree I wanted to keep up the school look, so here is the display I made:

Made this display from a few books we had around the house! A toy school bus and an apple tied with twine completed this arrangement!

Ok, now for the countdown – I hung it in the corner of the bench and Here is how it looked:

Library style pockets banner made to hang in the corner of our bench seating area in our kitchen!

Idea came from this pin here and I adapted what Kelly Brown with Simply Kelly B did as she shared 5 fun ways to count down to the first day of school on Studio 5. She has many great ideas!  I had only a week (hers had 1o days) left til school so that is why I adapted mine and labeled them the way that I did. This countdown was used twice – once with activities to prepare us for school and then I used it at our Back To School Dinner & Celebration (post coming up next about that)!

So here is a look at how all these individual items came together to create our Back to School Corner:

Here is a picture of all the elements together on the cute corner shelf of our kitchen bench seats!!

So, there it is, a few simple things I did to make the beginning of school year a little more fun and exciting for my kiddos!!
