Birthday Cards – Another Twofer

Here are the other two cards I made during some play time this past weekend!

~Card # 1 Purple Flowers~

purplefloweradj

For this card I used a top folding piece of Lavender Lace cardstock and a 4 1/8″ by 5 3/8″ piece of thick vellum. First thing I did was use a circle die from MFT to cut out a circle from the vellum. I put the panel minus the circle into a Tim Holtz Notebook embossing folder. Used a 1/8″ hole punch to attach the vellum with ribbon to the card front. For the circle I die cut out I stamped some flowers from Heartfelt Thanks stamp set from Stampin’ Up! The ink colors used were Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Certainly Celery, and Garden Green – all from SU! I carefully laid the circle back in and put adhesive behind the flowers to secure it there!

Rainbow Love

I played around a little yesterday with masking and sponging and I came up with this card:

heartrainbowcardadj

I used a homemade circle stencil and 2 Paper Smooches stamp sets to make this card! The stamp sets I used are Word Salad and Smoocheroos. I took all the hearts and stamped them at the top of a Post-It note like this –

heartmasksadj

Then I very carefully cut them out! They all had sticky stuff on them since I had stamped them up at the top of the Post-It note! Then I took my homemade circle stencil – made out of chipboard and various sized circle punches – situated the largest circle where I wanted it and then placed the large heart mask inside the circle as shown here:

circlestenciladj

I used Sponge Daubers – 1 per color and did each circle/heart smaller than the one before it!! I staggered them in an upward diagonal on my simple white card base.  Inks I used are a Calypso Kaleidacolor rainbow ink pad and for the orange I used Tangelo Twist from Stampin’ Up!

After sponging all the circles the masks were all colored up so I added them to the card except the red one because I put the “Love You” text by that one.

It is over at Your Next Stamp – it is a color and a sketch challenge!!

I used 2 stamp sets from them to make this card:

Frytasticadj

The sets I used were Happy Meal and Fast Food Fun Sentiments – The dies I used were the Happy Meal die set  and I used Horizontal Stitched strips and Vertical Stitched strips from MFT. I used my old Stampin’ Up markers to color in the fries and I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder after stamping with Versamark ink! The card base is Barely Banana card stock and the other papers are scraps from my box!

feelbettergreenadj

This card was made using the Sniffles & Snuggles stamp set. I stamped it twice on watercolor paper and then I trimmed one and put it on my green background that I had embossed.  Then I die cut the second one into a circle and water colored it. Then I placed the colored circle over the order using foam squares! Added some sequins and I was done with this card.

I was inspired by this sketch:

My circle ended up a bit more centered than in the sketch but you see it, right?!?

Thanks so much for looking at both my Sugar Pea cards!!

Here’s The Scoop

Hello, ALL you BEAUTIFUL people!! SO glad you are here!!

Monday brought me a little more creative time in my craft room!!

I made this card:

triplescoopadj

This card needed to be CAS so I started out with a blank white cardstock that I layered on Positively Pink cardstock (SU!). I took the Here’s The Scoop set from Lawn Fawn and stamped a trio of ice cream scoops on various Doodlebug Glitter papers in Lily White, Cupcake, and Tangerine. The shiny metal paper I used for the scoop was a scrap in my scrap box! Embossed using Onyx Black Versafine Ink and Clear Embossing powder on a vellum banner. It was stapled on using a mini stapler.

The inside of my card says – You are SO COOL!!

I am so excited to be linking this card up to these challenges:

The cute sunshine is from a Sizzix die – available here.  I added to the rays of the sunshine some Tangerine Doodlebug jewels!

Best Wishes – a “Whale”y Great Card

I feel like I can never have enough cards on hand for mens’ birthdays – So I made three of this card today to add to my arsenal! This one matched up well with 2 challenges.

Here is my card:

shinywhaleadj

I used a stamp set that I received in a Studio Calico kit a couple years back! All the images on this card are from that set! Using Mint Macaron & Night of Navy ink pads I stamped up this scene. I did the generation stamping to get various depths of color for my ocean!  My whale features the “rock n’ roll” technique – inking up first in the mint and then rolling it on the navy ink pad. I covered my whale with glossy accents – I am not sure you can see that in this photo – but I did, really!! Then I used a Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkle for his eye!! And there you have it – My “Whale”y great card!!

I am linking this card up to these 2 challenges:
