I tried something today and I think it worked pretty good!!
I watercolored by squoosing my inkpads so that ink got on the lid and then I used a wet paintbrush to pick up the ink!! The colors I used were all by Stampin’Up – Cool Caribbean, Pretty in Pink, Orchid Opulence and Lovely Lilac. I also used my flesh colored zig real brush pen for the skin! I had a lot of fun doing it this way!!
My card turned out like this:
I used SU! banner die cuts and an old set called Girlfriends!! Sequins were added and an embossed sentiment invites a friend for a night out with a lot of girl talk going on!!!
I was able to create a CAS – One Layer card this afternoon by doing some masking!!
This is what I created:
First, I die cut a rectangle out of chipboard, then I stamped the two leaves on a post-it note and cut them out for masks!! I took the negative of the rectangle and a leaf mask and sponged the Certainly Celery in the center! Then I used the rectangle diecut and the negative and the leaf so I could sponge Ruby Red in that area!! Next, I did the same thing using Pumpkin Pie! After I had sponged all the rectangles I stamped the leaves into the empty spaces – trying my best to line them up perfectly (NOT) but I think it looks good!! The Set I used is an SU! set called Fall Fun!! Last thing I did was use an American Crafts Gold pen to draw a light line around each rectangle!! This actually looks like the idea I had in my mind – Yippee!! So glad!!
It would be so great if you came over and joined us!!
Here is the card I made for this challenge:
When I thought about Funky colored hair – the first thing that came to mind is a CLOWN!!
The clown, balloon and sentiment were all stamped using the Kaleidacolor Calypso inkpad – the images and sentiment are from a REALLY OLD SU! set called Party Time!! I used an embossing folder from Sissix called Snowballs! I wanted the colors to match so I took the rainbow pad and smooshed it onto an acrylic block and used it like a paint palette – getting water on my brush and then picking up some ink!! I colored the balloon and the clown in that way!! Did some fussy cutting and then used foam squares to mount all pieces to the card!! Added a piece of twine for the balloon string!!
I would like to also link this card up to these challenges:
The jar is from an SU! set called Perfectly Preserved! I stamped it on an acetate sheet with a Black StazOn ink pad– trimmed around the edges and put it over the crayons I had stamped!! I had never stamped on acetate before!!
I used washi tape and my favorite butterfly from the Gladsome Garden SU! set! The peach Skittles I used are at the ends of the black washi tape – the glare in the photo made them hard to see – they really do look cool!! I stamped and then fussy cut the butterflies out!! And a simple sentiment was added!
