Gold & Silver Thank You

I played around with some embossing powder and made a card that is not really my style but I wanted to see how it would work out!  I used a VersaMark inkpad with gold embossing powder and silver embossing powder!

This is my card:

I stamped with a Hero Arts set called So Kind!

Here is a picture of the set –

Well, that is it for me tonight!! I wish you all a HAPPY & CRAFTY day tomorrow!!

Make something BEAUTIFUL to show someone you care!!

This card is dedicated to ALL of you who fill my life with SPARKLE & SHINE!!!

Hey, Peeps!! What’s Up??

I tried something today and I think it worked pretty good!!

I watercolored by squoosing my inkpads so that ink got on the lid and then I used a wet paintbrush to pick up the ink!! The colors I used were all by Stampin’Up – Cool Caribbean, Pretty in Pink, Orchid Opulence and Lovely Lilac. I also used my flesh colored zig real brush pen for the skin!  I had a lot of fun doing it this way!!

My card turned out like this:

I used SU! banner die cuts and an old set called Girlfriends!! Sequins were added and an embossed sentiment invites a friend for a night out with a lot of girl talk going on!!!

I feel like I used the 4 colors – Caribbean, lilac, orchid, pink – I am not sure the photo did the colors justice but that is the color scheme I was going for!!

Boy or Girl

For my card this time over at Simply Create Too – Challenge # 93: It’s a Special Occasion I made a duo of cards using old stamps (not sure of their names) from Stampin’ Up!

My card duo:

Ballet Blue paper and ink were used on the boy card!! Pretty in Pink paper and ink for the girl card!

Jute twine was used to hang the die cut tags and I used eyelets (remember those-LOL) on them!

And, YES, I did use a corrugator on the kraft paper strips!

And lastly, the grosgrain ribbon is from my bucket of ribbon scraps!!!

I had a little more time to play today!!

Playing with my Doodlebug Design products resulted in this card:

All paper items used are part of the Doodlebug Design‘s Lovebugs collection – the papers, the doily, and the stickers!!  The sentiment from Great Impressions was stamped with a VersaMark Ink Pad and embossed with White embossing powder!!

A Trio of Leaves

I was able to create a CAS – One Layer card this afternoon by doing some masking!!

This is what I created:

First, I die cut a rectangle out of chipboard, then I stamped the two leaves on a post-it note and cut them out for masks!! I took the negative of the rectangle and a leaf mask and sponged the Certainly Celery in the center! Then I used the rectangle diecut and the negative and the leaf so I could sponge Ruby Red in that area!! Next, I did the same thing using Pumpkin Pie! After I had sponged all the rectangles I stamped the leaves into the empty spaces – trying my best to line them up perfectly (NOT) but I think it looks good!! The Set I used is an SU! set called Fall Fun!! Last thing I did was use an American Crafts Gold pen to draw a light line around each rectangle!! This actually looks like the idea I had in my mind – Yippee!! So glad!!

Guest Designing at 4 Crafty Chicks – Week 4

Well, Hello to all you fabulous folks!!!

I have some fun news – I am Guest Designing for 4 Crafty Chicks this month!!

This is my last week – I would really like to thank the chicks for having me!!

For this fourth week of August the Challenge is  # 261 {Funky Hair}  – It will run for a week!!

And Lori is our host!

It would be so great if you came over and joined us!!

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

When I thought about Funky colored hair – the first thing that came to mind is a CLOWN!!

The clown, balloon and sentiment were all stamped using the Kaleidacolor Calypso inkpad – the images and sentiment are from a REALLY OLD SU! set called Party Time!! I used an embossing folder from Sissix called Snowballs! I wanted the colors to match so I took the rainbow pad and smooshed it onto an acrylic block and used it like a paint palette – getting water on my brush and then picking up some ink!! I colored the balloon and the clown in that way!! Did some fussy cutting and then used foam squares to mount all pieces to the card!! Added a piece of twine for the balloon string!!

I would like to also link this card up to these challenges:

Crayon Trio

After some laundry, chopping veggies and putting dinner in the Crock Pot I had time to create a card using a new technique to me!

This is the card I made:

I made this card using Lawn Fawn‘s Color My World stamp set and matching die!

Stamped the crayon with the  Versafine – Onyx Black  inkpad and used Clear ultra fine embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped with a VersaMark Ink Pad and embossed with White embossing powder!! I then colored over the letters in the word color with my colored pencils!

Colored the crayons in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a Zig Detailer Watercolor brush!

The jar is from an SU! set called Perfectly Preserved! I stamped it on an acetate sheet with a Black StazOn ink pad – trimmed around the edges and put it over the crayons I had stamped!! I had never stamped on acetate before!!

I used 1/8″ Scor-Tape from Classy Cards ‘n Such to adhere my acetate to the watercolor cardstock!

I want to link this card up to the following challenges:

Challenge: Use a Bug!

And here is my card for the BUG challenge:

I used washi tape and my favorite butterfly from the Gladsome Garden SU! set! The peach Skittles I used are at the ends of the black washi tape – the glare in the photo made them hard to see – they really do look cool!! I stamped and then fussy cut the butterflies out!! And a simple sentiment was added!

I have always loved tulips – I love them almost as much as daisies but not quite!!

So today I watercolored this card:

I used 2 stamp sets from STAMPlorationsSentiment Builders: Happy and Sketched Tulips

I started with a Melon Mambo A2 top folding card – I diecut a rectangle for my image out of watercolor paper!!

Stamped the image with the  Versafine – Onyx Black  inkpad and used Clear ultra fine embossing powder.

Colored image in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a Zig Detailer Watercolor brush!

I took the Happy and the birthday sentiment and stamped with Melon Mambo directly onto the card base!! I did use a piece of craft foam to raise my image up!!
