Love Notes for Retreat # 1

As promised I am back to tell you a little more about the fun we had at the Retreat!

Today I want to share about the Love Notes Kit I made for each person! The idea was to encourage all my friends to notice nice things about each other and then tell them in a little note!

The Love Notes Kit looked like this:

lovenotekitfrsig

And on the back – it had a description of what was in each kit:

And there was also a pen washi taped onto the back

lovenotebacksig

And I closed it on the front with a mini tag and a black clothespin that I added a twine bow and button to!

Here are the mint, toothpicks, and chocolate kiss – this is how I bagged them up

NOW – For the MINI CARDS that went into the kit!!

I made 8 sets of 8 mini cards and I am going to show you 4 of them today!!

A Group photo of the first four cards –

Card # 1 You are the Sprinkles on the Cupcake of Life

cupcakesmcsig

Made using 3 by 3 card base and envelope! Used Stampin’ Up!’s new set Sprinkles Of Life stamped images on background papers and cut out with the Tree Builder Punch also from SU! Also fussy cut the cupcake bottom! Added a flower and a pink brad!

Card # 2 “BEE”utiful card

beesmcsig

For this little cutie I used a 2 by 3 card with a matching envelope! A Bumblebee Doodlebug Mini Doily was glued down first, then I stamped images from Lawn Fawn’s Bee Mine stamp set on a white circle that was layered in the middle of the doily!! The beautiful word is from an older, name unknown SU! set! Colored the bee in and added a Wink of Stella to the wings!!

Card # 3 Hello, Friend

hellofriendmcsig

This card is also a 3 by 3 card with envelope – the bases and envelopes were purchased from Michaels’ bargain bins quite awhile ago! And the hello friend square is from a sheet of die cuts made by Pebbles and mentioned here!

Card # 4 “SODA” lightful

sodamcsig

This is another 2 by 3 card – I trimmed a thin piece off the side with zigzag scissors and layered some scrap of blue behind it! Also layered a piece of yellow and stamped the -lightful sentiment in black on it and the hearts in Real Red!!  I used the following YNS products – Happy Meal and Fast Food Fun Sentiments  Stamp sets and the matching Happy Meal Die SetStamped the outline images and sentiment in Versafine – Onyx Black  inkpad and used Clear ultra fine embossing powder. Colored image in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a Zig Detailer Watercolor brush!

I will be Back soon with my Retreat Post # 3 – more Love Notes!!

All of these love notes are so sweet! Your friends must have been very excited to receive these wonderful kits. It’s such a great idea to have everyone write kind words to others. Many years ago, my colleagues and I we’re each asked to write 3 things we liked about each of our other coworkers. Our lists were compiled and we were each given a laminated card with all the kind words the others had said about us. I still have that card today and smile everytime I come across it. All this to say that your love notes kits will surely be remembered and appreciated for years to come!

Wow Taunya!! All of these cards are lovely!! I especially like the cupcake one-you had me at the sprinkles!! I think I like it best because of the colors. The second card with the bee-so sweet. That yellow doily is perfect behind it. I have to say that I am loving the STAGING of your photos with the fun twine, buttons and trim. Looks so festive!! You are so generous and I am wondering how you come up with all these fabulous ideas every year. I would be at a loss. Anyway, thank you for sharing your stunning creations.
