Circles Happy Birthday

Played in my craft room today before going to enjoy a fun and wonderful lunch with family and friends!! I got to see my girlies (my 3 granddaughters) They were so sweet and helped me eat my Chicken Caesar salad – between the 3 of them, I was left with the lettuce!! It was still really good times and made my heart happy!!

But here is one of the cards –

Using several of my circle punches and a piece of chipboard I made a stencil of sorts to do this background!

I drew the lines on with a black pen and stamped a happy birthday sentiment between my drawn lines!!

I took mini doilies and regular sized Doodlebug doilies and placed them on a manila file folder – arranging them and then securing them to the folder!! I laminated it and Voila –

I now have a cute folder to hold papers in!!

This idea came about as I was trying to think up something original to do with the doilies!!!

Blooming Cute Trio

I was playing around this afternoon and created this cute little notecard with a Blooming Cute trio of flowers!!

I used this stamp set from Doodlebug Design:

I used a piece of Ranger Distress watercolor cardstock  – cut it in half and stamped my images on it with an Onyx Black Versafine inkpad and then embossed with some clear detail embossing powder! Now I could break open these and play with them –

LOVE THEM!!!! I added a little color to each image and then came in with my water brush and blended them!! Also, did a very light blue wash to add sky behind my trio of blooms!!

Here is my notecard –

Stenciling, Sponging, and Splattering – Oh, My!!

Spent a little time in my craft room today making some more Masculine birthday cards!!

I used this mini well rounded stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop

I took a kraft paper card base and using SU! inkpads Olive Green and Taken with Teal I sponged color onto the card in a line (of sorts)! I then took the Teal reinker and added water in the lid – got some on a paintbrush and splattered it on to the card!! A sentiment was added with SU! Chocolate Chip ink!

Here is how it turned out –

Smooshing – Giving it a Try

So, there is this technique called smooshing and I have not really tried it yet – so I got a piece of acetate and colored on it with three Stampin’ Up! colored markers: So Saffron (yellow), Taken with Teal, and Cameo Coral.

Then I sprayed it with some water and applied it to my Tim Holtz brand Watercolor cardstock

As you can see it went alright – Not super pleased with it but I will be trying it again!!!

I used Dark Blue cardstock to diecut the You’re Amazing from Simon Says Stamp and to layer behind my watercolor paper!!
