Day 1 – Spring Banner

springbanner1sig

Made using Doodlebug Design‘s Hello Sunshine collection(This link here is from earlier this year and the post talks about a giveaway – the giveaway mentioned is over but I still linked here because it is a great post with pictures of everything in this collection)

Here are pictures of each letter:

To make this banner I started with the largest die in the SU! Banners Framelits set

I cut banners in both chipboard and various Doodlebug papers from this collection:

4689 hello sunshine paper pack

Using Mod Podge I adhered the printed papers to the chipboard by painting on a thin coat!

I used these two  Stampin’ UP! punches to make the accent letter circles – 2 3/8″ Scalloped, 2’Regular

scallopedcirclepunch

2inchcirclepunch

Using the word “spring” stickers from the icon sheet I added the letters!

I added accents to each letter using the Sprinkles from this collection!!

I punched 1/8″ holes on either side of each piece and then I used some ribbon to thread them together. Then I used buttons and stitched them on the ribbon in between the banners!

And the finished result was this:

    Hi Taunya :)
I found Doodlebug about six months ago, so far I only have 2 paper pads, and I shall be visiting to see how you use other collections so that I can add them to my wanted list. Hello Sunshine is definately in that list now 😉
It is such a pretty and fun collection and the name suits the papers perfectly. You’ve chosen to make a wonderful banner to showcase the products from this collection, perfect for this time of year. Makes me smile when I look at it, and i’m sure it makes you smile too :)
Thanks for sharing this fab project with us, and the opportunity to have a play with some fabulous products too. You & Cynthea are very kind.
Have a great day, can’t wait to see what you are sharing tomorrow!

Taunya, your Spring banner is nothing short of smile-making and day-brightening! The papers truly are gorgeous, but it’s what YOU do with them that makes them magical! I can only imagine how cheerful that banner makes everyone in your house feel: bright colours, pretty spring-time images and, most important of all, the realization that it was crafted, with love, by you! In awe, my dear friend…in AWE!
