Yahoo!!! 100th Post (with a giveaway)

I am so very, very excited to be making my 100th post!!

My post today is featuring a card I made for my DT assignment over at Simply Create Too challenge blog!!

The challenge over there that is going on right now is # 75 – “Snow! Snow! Snow! [or use ALL white]

The linky closes on midnight, Thursday, December 4th!!!

Be sure to get your creation linked up by then!!!

I am so excited because for the challenge # 74 – Thanksgiving/Thank You  one of my followers was a winner!! Congratulations to Penny Ward!!!  Be sure to pop over and visit her blog www.pennywardink.com – she is very talented and such a sweet lady!!!

Ok, now for my card!! I used a way out of date super cute Stampin’ Up! snowman set!! I don’t even remember the name of the set,  it was foam mounted (gives you a clue as to how old it is) and I don’t even have the original packaging!  If I had to take a guess I would say that the name of the stamp set is Stitched Snowman – but that is just a guess!!

Since I was using such an “old school” stamp set I decided to do something else not done too much anymore and that is chalking!! I used my Stampin’ Up! chalks to color this cute little snowman!  Here he is:

I created this little scene from a bottom border I made for a scrapbook page!! I made it using my favorite Doodlebug products and the collection is Happy Harvest!! Please click on the pic to see it bigger!!

I hope you enjoy this day of Thanksgiving  – and pray that you will love bigger, eat heartier, and feel awesomer knowing that someone is thankful for YOU!!!

This is blog post #99 and my next post will feature a giveaway – I hope you will spread the word to your crafty friends because I am super excited to celebrate this achievement of 100 posts!!

See you next time!!!

One Design – 2 Cards

One day I was making a birthday card in pink for a niece of mine and decided to see what I could do to make the same card for a nephew!!

All I changed was one color in the design – see what you think?!?

If you click on the picture it will enlarge it so you can see some of the details I added to this fun card!!

I changed everything that had been pink to blue and kept the bow off of the boy card!! I had fun creating this and seeing how I could change it!

The stamp set is from Stampin’ Up! and I used the SU! ink colors Pink Passion, Lavender Lace and Green Galore –  changing out the pink for Tempting Turquoise!  All these colors have been discontinued now but I used what I had!!

I hope this post gave you some ideas about a card design that you could tweak just by changing a color on it!!

I am just 2  away from having 100 blog posts!! I am so excited and to celebrate I will be hosting a giveaway!!

Be sure to stop back by to see what I will be giving away to celebrate!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!!

New Design Team Gig

Oh, I am very excited and very belated in my announcement of being picked to be on the Simply Create Too Challenge blog Design Team.  It all happened back in September when my dad was really sick and then passed away – so this unfortunately delayed my ability to participate right away.

But just recently I was spotlighted and announced as a member of the team. Although the wrong photo was put in the post – it is of a fellow team member and is not me.  You can read all about that here!

In that same post I have my first Design Team project – the challenge for the card in this particular post is over but the newest one is Challenge # 74: “Thanksgiving/Thank You” – the link closes on Thursday, November 20th at midnight! So you could still hop on over with a card and link it up!! I sincerely hope you will!!

So without any more hemming and hawing – here is my card that I did for my first submission as a Design Team member:

butterfliescard

I made this card by “shopping in my stash” since that was Challenge # 73!!

I used the stamp sets – Simple Shapes, and the butterfly is from Gladsome Garden!! Both are by Stampin’ Up!

What a great experience this is going to be for me – looking forward to working with all the lovely ladies on this design team!! Thank you to Diane Goolsby who is in charge and is a wonderful, caring lady!!

Thanks for coming by – I am feeling much better!  And I plan to share many more things with you!!!

ETA – I linked up this card at Loves Rubber Stamps Challenges – #127: Things with Wings
