A “Rainbow” of Fun

Hello to all my blog friends!! I am popping in to start showing you the fun “rainbow” of treats I made for my friends at our retreat!! Do you see a theme emerging – perhaps a “rainbow” one!! The first gift I gave my gals was this:

Pouch for rainbow kool-aids made by sewing up the sides of this cute, flat kraft sack!

Here is a photo of the tag that went in the back pocket:

Here is a pic that shows what the tag says that tucks into the back of the sack!

I got this really great idea from Diane Jacquay of Peaceful Lane. She made some for summer using only 3 colors here and I decided to try putting all 6 colors of the rainbow into the pouch!! It was tight but it helped them stay put where I lined them up!! I am so grateful to Diane for the inspiration I received from her amazing blog!!

So stay tuned – today I gave them 3 treats, something red in the morning, an orange treat after lunch, and yellow sweetness after dinner.   I will try to take a quick minute tomorrow to show you!!

Thanks for all the support and well wishes!  I have done close to 75 pages today!! Yeah for me!! I love creating pages to save my children’s precious, beautiful memories

Love Notes for my Family

I look forward to working on the 126 scrapbook pages I have prepped, making thank you’s for my dad to use, and maybe starting a stitching project too!! It has become a tradition at our house that, while I am away, I will leave a love note for my kidlets and hubby each day!! And I thought I would share what surprises I am leaving for them!  I can show you on here because my husband is the only one in my house who looks at my blog & he already knows what I am doing so I am not spoiling anyone’s surprise!!

This picture shows the envelopes with treats in them all lined up and ready to open on the right day!

Treat envelopes - already to go!! There is one per day I am gone - except Friday! I did two treats for that day!

10550052_10152526034020943_4347862487728394433_o

These people are among some the very most beautiful blessings in my life!! I love them and respect who each of them are and I am grateful for how they each bring joy to my life!!!

So, I am off to be busy for the next 2 or 3 days with this amazing bunch of family!!

Take care and enjoy those you love until I can be here again!!

A Fun Technique

Just popping in quickly (seriously quick) to share this card with you:

This card was made using the KISS technique. I inked up the rectangle, then "kiss"ed it with the petal part of the tulip to remove ink in that design from the rectangle. I then came in with the darker blue color and stamped the petal part over that spot. It gave this card a beautiful look!

Sorry to be so quick but things are a little crazy in my world!! And I am off to spend the week with my family, my son & his wife, my 3 granddaughters (YIPPEE) , my mom and dad, and all 5 of my siblings and their families!!  If I get a quiet moment I will try to post something  – but my projects right now are all the cute treat notes I am making for the upcoming retreat!! And I promised to share them with you after I give them out!! So hopefully I will see you soon!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Smile!!

Hey there, everyone!! I hope this Summer day finds you smiling and not melting!! I am in the smiling and melting, since it is 102 degrees here today in Utah where I hail from!!

I have created a card today that was inspired by my son, who has for all the 10 years of his life, been obsessed with any kind of ball!  He loves sports to the  max!! Whenever he is found playing with a ball, he has a big, happy smile on his face!!

So, enter here a card created with him in mind – using the Have a Ball set (another oldie but a goodie) from Stampin’ Up!

Perfect card for any lover of sports - old or young!!

Perfect card for any lover of sports – old or young!!

I used vellum, clear and blue, to create the smile banner!  I used a Little Yellow Bicycle word die I purchased last week from Hobby Lobby to get the smile – I cut it out twice and layered them.  The balls are arranged and stuck down with double stick mounting tape!!  A few speckles in blue and a trio of stars completes my creation!! I am entering this card in three challenges, they are: CAS(E) this Sketch –  # 84CTS_Sketch84

And Cupcake Inspirations – Challenge 269CIC269

And Virginia’s View Challenge – # 5 Die cut V. V. Challenge #5 (2) (1)

And last, but not least, over at Moxie Fab World – “Wonderful Words Challenge” I enjoyed making this card with my super fun, and uber cool 10 year old in mind – I think I am going to tuck it away for his birthday next March!!  SHH!! Don’t anybody tell him!! When you are creating does something about someone you love inspire you to create? I hope you can think of someone in your life and create a card specific to them!!  I am glad to say that this was fun and I am pleased with how it turned out!!

Have a super, wonderfully cool day filled with lots of inspiration!!

Leave me a message – they make me feel like the creating is helping someone!!

Beautiful Balloons

I was inspired by this challenge over at Inkspirational Challenges – Challenge 60 – photo inspiration.

And here’s the photo that inspired me:

challenge60inkspiration

I thought this was beautiful and I remembered a collection that I won from Webster’s Pages a while back – It was called “Postcards in Paris” and it had the perfect items for me to make this card:

Card made with papers from Webster's Pages "Postcards from Paris" collection!!

Card made with papers from Webster’s Pages “Postcards from Paris” collection!!

I scalloped the edge of one side of the card front, then I sewed it down onto a kraft card base from PaperStudios (they come in packs of 50 and are on sale this week at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 off). The word beautiful bubble was cut out of a piece of patterned paper and mounted to the card with foam dots! The addition of a few pearls from Doodlebug Design completed it!

Christmas in July

Alrighty, blog world, I know you are all counting down the days until Christmas, right?!?!? My answer is Heck, no!!!

But I did make these projects for some challenges – both requiring a word die and the only one I have says Merry Christmas – so I decided to go with that!!!

First, I made this card by gluing SU! twine in random swirly patterns on a white card front.  I then glued that to a folded piece of gold SU! cardstock and sewed the vellum strip onto the card and then added the words “Merry Christmas”, that had been cut out with a word die, over the vellum!! The final touch was a mini gold jingle bell tied with gold thread and glue dotted on the front over the i!  I think it turned out great!  Here it is:

A touch of gold for Christmas with a little jingle!!

I am entering this challenge over at  Moxie Fab World:”Wonderful Words Challenge” !  Feeling wordy – you could come play too!! It ends on Sunday, July 20th at midnight EST!! Hope you decide to join in the fun!!

My second project is a tag with words  – I am linking it up over here at the new challenge blog Tag You’re It!! challenge # 1

TYIC_1

Here is what I made – A Merry Christmas Tag with a jingle bell and some SU! twine.  Check it out:

Christmas Word Tag

I used the gold rectangle negative from the words punched for the above card, layered it on vellum.  Then I sewed that down onto a Forest Green tag.  I cut out Merry Christmas from red cardstock and glued it inside the negative!! Then some twine and a gold jingle bell!!

E TA – I have decided to enter the Christmas card over at Virginia’s View Challenge – # 5 Die Cut

V. V. Challenge #5 (2)

Three Challenges At Once – What?!?!

I am so extremely excited to tell you that I am linking up this card to 3, yes 3 challenges!!

Inkspirational Challenge 59 – Blue with White/Cream AND House of Cards July Challenge – Add a Bow

Good Morning, blogland!!! I am so grinning from ear to ear right now because I am linking up to TWO more challenges!! This is such a stretch for me because I have a hard time creating on demand or in a certain way.  But, I did it!!

I made this card using Watercolor mini and Little Shapes stamp sets both from Stampin’ Up!  I did it in the blue/white color scheme – my colors are SU! Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy!!

Here it is –
